ADL Calls Kanye West’s Jew Comment ‘Classic Anti-Semitism’

adlThe Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called US rapper Kanye West’s anti-Jewish remarks, in a radio interview last week, ‘Classic Anti-Semitism.’

“If the comments are true as reported, this is classic anti-Semitism,” ADL national director, Abraham Foxman, said in a statement. “There it goes again, the age-old canard that Jews are all-powerful and control the levers of power in government. As a celebrity with a wide following, Kanye West should know better. We hope that he will take responsibility for his words, understand why they are so offensive, and apologize to those he has offended.”

The following is a transcript from Mr. West’s rant:

“Man, let me tell you something about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money. People want to say Obama can’t make these moves or he’s not executing. That’s because he ain’t got those connections. Black people don’t have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don’t have the same connection as oil people. You know we don’t know nobody that got a nice house. You know we don’t know nobody with paper like that we can go to when we down. You know they can just put us back or put us in a corporation. You know we ain’t in situation. Can you guarantee that your daughter can get a job at this radio station? But if you own this radio station, you could guarantee that. That’s what I’m talking about.”

  1. Maybe if they learned how to talk English they could get a better job! Maybe if they got an education instead of stealing and robbing, they could get a better job and a nicer house. No one is stopping these people except themselves.

Maybe obama should say if he had a son he would talk like that.

  2. No. 1: Have you considered the possibility that if President Obama had a son, he would not talk like Kanye West? And since the president does have 2 daughters, we have a pretty good idea of how any Obama child would talk. And, frankly, from the posts of yours that I have read, they probably talk better than you.

  3. No. 3: Is your comment intended to question my reasoning? Or question the wearing of a hoodie (like my children wear to their cheder)? Are you suggesting that President Obama’s son would wear a dress, since his daughters do?
