I’m not trying to diminish AIRF in any way it just bothers me that they say that there aren’t any “fundraising” expenses this way “diminishing” hundreds of other orginizations. Obviously there are,they have an office, gaboim who get compensated for their time,website.credit card expenses etc. The difference is they have it covered through different sources.This is an advantage but they are still spending money.

To all our well to do brethren, I wish you continued success in your parnassa. I also hope that you never experience the poverty our family has personally faced, and the heightened stress and anxiety which those of modest means face before Yom Tov.

The tough decisions we make, are not to which hotel we will be going away for Yom Tov, rather where can we cut corners in order to have some semblance of a Yom Tov spirit at home.

To have another bit of money at hand, helps us maintain our equilibrium, and has long reaching effects benefiting shalom bayis and children at risk.

To all those cynics who dare weaken the tzedaka resolve of the noble people who can make the difference for a poor family in Eretz Yisroel, I pity you, for I would not want to be in your shoes. If even one family will this suffer this yom tov due to your thoughtless comments, you can have the dubious honor of chalking this up to your credit.

Teshuva, Tefilla, and Tzedaka go very far on the the Days of Awe. It would follow, that anti-Tzedaka comments have the appropriate negative spiritual effect. Beware.

The Rosh Yeshiva was against that stuff.
