Such a pack of selfish hypocrites! They can’t find enough money to kill the rats in the subways, and they can’t get the doors on the subway cars to open on the right side but they have enough money to line their pockets. Disgusting!

Anyone familiar with the way the NYC bureaucracy works could tell you that theses raises were applied for or/and recommended, and approved many months ago before the latest crisis. Also note that as a percentage of their salary, the increases are small.
(Their salaries may be too big to begin with, but that’s a whole other issue.)
