The seatbelt law was enacted not just to save your life and not just for revenue purposes.

Statistics prove that the seatbelt law not only saved thousands of lives but saved insurance companies money and saved local and states plenty of money.

States save every time there are less injuries and less people bilikng the medicaid system.

Less injuries-less people using the hospital system and clogging up the system.

This is a complex issue but millions of people and milllions of dollars have been saved throughout the country because of tough seatbelt enforcement.

Seatbelt tickets is down this year by 90% which means that almost everyone wears a seatbelt.

Cell phone tickets are up 100% this year and which means that the enforcement is getting rougher and many people are still not using hands free. When the police crack down on cell phone usage the way they did seatbelts the last three years we will all be better off and have safer drivers on the road.

The new law promoting the assault of a uniformed Traffic Agent to a felony was enacted precisely for the ignorant individuals such as holykugel .
Traffic Agents under the NYPD have come a long way in the past 10 years. Never mind try to find a job with paid health care, matching 401k,3 weeks starting vacation and paid sick leave. Requirements for Traffic Enforcement Agent are basically the same as police officer with one exception no college credits needed. They soon forget Traffic Agents were first responders to ground Zero, performing many heroic acts. Many people are unaware there are 4 ranks of T/A. I= PK ticket agent II = Directs Traffic-issues moving violations - III=Tow Agent IV= Truck/Construction Enforcement and HWY HElP officer with Peace Officer Status. They protect the public in the laws they enforce. If you are unable to take responsibility for your own self inflicted parking fines, perhaps a cold jail cell is in your future 7 years max.

#5, the answer to tickets for double parking is DON'T double park! It's against the law! It's a chillul Hashem. Park a few blocks away and walk - there's nothing that says you MUST park in front of a store. If you don't double park, you won't get a ticket.

#2, I'm not sure what you want; I don't understand your English. Seat belts are proven to improve safety - just ask any trauma doctor. The rule should be that if you don't want to wear a seat belt, that's fine, but your insurance company doesn't have to pay the bill. The same with motorcycle helmets.

It used to be the meter maids would warn you to move your double parked car on Coney Island ave or be ticketed - no more warnings - now even if you’re in the car with the motor running they will quickly sneak up to your car and before you have a chance to pull away they will scan your registration in, leaving you with a $115 ticket.

someone should speak to Simcha Felder about this...

Alot of the lawes are not for the benefit of the comunity but to bring revenue. Here are some examples. Seatbelts law, is the safest way of riding not to need a seat belt standing in a city bus and falling all over? or maybe a motorcycle not to need a seat belt? is double parking a metermaid car blocking the traffic and giving a ticket for a expired meter while a ambulance in middle of the block with an emercency for the comunity or for something else?

Waiting for a answer from #2
thanks

#1, stop blaming all cops for the deeds of a few. By and large they are good people who do not get paid nearly enough for putting up with everything that happens to them - let alone having to respond to dangerous situations.
