Until about 12 or 13(?) years ago, there were no water meters in private homes. Everyone paid a flat (minimal) amount. Then one year there was a water shortage due to lack of rain. Measures were implemented regulating watering of lawns, washing of cars AND the installation of water meters, to motivate people not to waste water. Well, needless to say, the water shortage came and went, but the meters came and STAYED, and now the price of water is on the rise! What's next? Will we soon be wearing masks that measure how much air we breathe, and be charged for that too?!?! To pay for all the wasteful programs for people who come to this city to be on the receiving end of the taxes of those who actually work, this city is taxing working people until they are forced to move out! WHO will be left here then...

KEEP GOING FELLAS. IF YOU CREATE ENOUGH NEW TAXES, WE'LL ALL GO BANKRUPT, AND OUR BILLIONAIRE-MAYOR BLOOMBERG CAN PAY ALL THE CITY'S EXPENSES HIMSELF.

AND WHY NOT, HE BOUGHT THE MAYORALTY, LET HIM PAY FOR IT.
