It’s one thing to criticize for the sake of improvement. We Jews are very good at that. In fact we’re practically the only ones who do it.

Do you really think that a greater % of Frum Jews are dishonest than the general population? Look at the prison numbers? How many crimes are done by others that are not prosecuted?

For someone who is coming to defend the truth, please speak the truth. It’s time for people to recognize that Torah observant Jews are better. If you want documentation, you can find some in Rabbi Avigdor Miller ztz”l’s books. Who are the most honest people in the world? Not Frum Jews? It is incredible. People who call names have a guilty conscience (I don’t mean you, charliehall, I mean your sources).

For example, the Arabs say that the IDF committed civilian atrocities. This is beyond belief. But this has been going on for years: people who call names have a guilty conscience. Hitler’s propaganda accused the Jews of being the most evil nation on earth. (Hint: One of the most evil was in his mirror).

There are too many examples to mention here.

A great reason why you see “news” reporting “so many” Jews sadly engaged in questionable business practices is because it is news. When Obama’s people (who you seem to like) do dishonest things it’s almost not news. It’s what else is new. When a Frum Jew does some thing wrong — boy they are all over him. It makes “front-page” news. Why is it news? Don’t all Frum Jews steal?

In fact, there is a whole book documenting some of the corruption in your favorite administration (“Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team…”). Where are all the front page news articles? The answer (in part) is that it’s not newsworthy. What else do you expect from a Liberal?

Where were all the news articles documenting how so many tens of Rabbonim turned down the Moser’s offers? Compare that with the number of politicians who turned him down. (Very few).

IsraeliYid #8 – i will not argue with your numbers, but the bottom line is, you WILL have to forego some American luxuries (and people will realize, when they see how well they can get along without them, that things they thought in the states were necessities, really ARE luxuries) but you CAN make it, and have an OVERALL much better life for yourself and future for your children. AND- to all the people who will talk about the lack of a frum environment, lack of tzniyus, etc. that they saw on Ben Yehuda, or Dizengoff, – there are a multitude of frum neighborhoods and frum towns where your children can group up in a beautiful Torah atmosphere, and where what they learned in Tana”ch happened just down the road or over the next hill from where they live.

New York is squeezing the blood out of us. Rising real estate taxes, water/sewer taxes, parking tickets for no good reason, sanitation tickets for no good reason, and it goes on and on and on. Most Jews feel they “need” NY for the shuls, Yeshivas, kosher food access, etc.
I would urge anyone that possibly can to strongly consider aliyah. Aside from the numerous spiritual advantages (despite the horrible chiloni government) you will pay LESS to send 4 kids to yeshiva in Israel, than what you pay here for ONE! Don’t believe me? – Look into it! – And… Why goyim stay in New York is totally incomprehensible to me, when in many other states you can get bigger, more beautiful homes on HUGE plots of land for a third or a quarter of the price it costs here.

If taxes were the primary factor, there would be massive migration to places that are very close but with lower taxes, but that isn’t the case. Perhaps the reason is a stagnant economy due to an failed industrial policy and reliance on the late financial services industry.
