PHOTOS: Baltimore Hatzalah, Shomrim & Chaverim Work Through Blizzard

[PHOTO LINK BELOW] Baltimore, MD – The Mayor of Baltimore has declared a phase III snow emergency, as the blizzard of 2010 continues slamming Baltimore with 2 feet of fresh snow, high winds and blizzard condition.

This did not stop any of Northwest Baltimore’s emergency agencies from responding to those in need.

This evening, during the worst of the storm Hatzalah received a priority one call. Hatzalah responders along with Baltimore City Fire Department Engine 45 and Medic 14 arrived to stabilize the patient. Shomrim units, with a snow plow, were dispatched and plowed the street to allow for access while Chaverim units hand dug the walkway.

This was a great Kiddush hashem and show of all agencies working together.

Within an hour Hatzalah responded to the same block for another priority one patient.

As the storm continues Hatzalah strongly encourages everyone to remain indoors and off the streets.

There are reports of stuck and abandoned cars and snow being shoveled into the streets; this seriously hinders the response of emergency vehicles.

Again please remain indoors until the storm passes and the streets are plowed.

  1. you cannot imagine what it looks like here in Baltimore. There is 3 feet of snow on the ground now and during the day today you could not see anything due to white out conditions. It was very scary. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. You have to see it to believe it so a huge yosher koach to shomrim, hatzalah and chaverim for working for the kehillah despite extremely hazardous conditions during the 2 blizzards!
