[PHOTO LINK BELOW] Detectives from the NYPD are on the scene investigating a police involved shooting Monday afternoon just outside Public School 194 in Sheepshead Bay.
Sources tell YWN that an officer from the NYPD’s 61st Precinct shot a 25-year-old male on Avenue W near Knapp street.
Detectives from CSU have recovered a toy gun at the scene of the shooting.
The suspect was transported to Coney Island Hospital in traumatic arrest.
A Level 1 response was called for crowd control, and Brooklyn South Assistant Chief Joseph Fox was on the scene just minutes later taking full control of the incident.
The school had been dismissed not long before before the shooting.
If you are exiting the Belt parkway at the Knapp Street Exit, expect heavy delays in the area, as police have shut down multiple streets.

Sounds like suicide by cop. He should have chosen to do this away from a school on a deserted street.

fact is if a gun, no matter how it looks is aimed at an officer, they must kill the person. there is no time to analyze if thr gun is real.

I never heard of that. They don’t “must” kill! They are supposed to preserve human life whenever possible. Its only the panicked idiots that go around “must killing” innocent civilians (who stupidly aim fake pistols)
I wasn’t there but if the guy wasn’t shooting there’s no reason to just shoot him. I’m sure a warning shot would have done the job.
