wolfowitz would not do something like that. wolfowitz’s father was a holocaust survivor, and wolfowitz’s assets are nowehere near what would be required to lose on such a scam that wolfenson did. (by the way, no one believes wolfenson spent his own $$$ on those hot houses. the real investigation should be how did the us (cia or whatever) funnel us govt funds to this project / scam, but they’ll never investigate. after all, this probably comes from the same fund trhat was used to bankroll the anti-netanyahu campaign twice; once successful, once unsuccesful; but you’ll never get anyone to investigate that. (the problem is that some yw commenters will complain about netantyahu’s (second) wife. well, we’re stuck with what we have (and netanyahu was not so ay-yay-yay; check spelling) )

However, the World Bank fiasco is a complete travesty! For those following the story, Wolfowitz reported the relationship and asked to be recused from any negotiations with the woman in question, and the board turned him down! All his attempts to bring transparency to the workings of the World Bank have met with resistance from the European bureaucrats.

For a more detailed, documented look, read the Wall Street Journal reports and op-eds going back several months. They exposed the double-dealings of Wolfowitz’s enemies a long time ago, but it seems no one was willing to go to bat against the Europeans on this one.
