are these accidents b/c the roads are poorly designed or because drivers are not driving safely?

Regarding the winding roads off the State highways another factor could be walkers walking 2, 3 or even 4 abreast and not single file causing cars (that are coming around curves) to have to swerve to avoid hitting someone.

Sullivan County has some really nasty roads – that’s why some Rabbanim don’t like kids under 21 driving there at all.

I am not surprised. I don’t think there has not been a summer in the last five years that there was not a story of a major car accident. But, are they going to fix it before the summer starts? Don’t count on it!
