This is silly. Brooklyn College is still a very frum place. There are hundreds of frum boys and girls studying and working to get good jobs and parnosa. There are also many very talented frum professors who have tenure and who are promoted. There are two kosher resturants and minyanim all the time. These people where simply not up to par for Brooklyn College.

Wow…My how Brooklyn College has changed. During the ’70s there was actually an officially sanctioned Minyan Club where Yeshiva students who went to school at night (today’s askonim)would daven Mincha (DST) and Maariv. There even was a glatt kosher fast food restaurant on campus.

1. The article said “Influential state Assemblyman Dov Hikind ” – outside of the frum community, Hikind has no influence. He’s a Democrat who frequently betrays his party. He can make a lot of noise, but that’s it.

2. Discrimination of this sort, whether based on religion, ethnicity, or whatever, is illegal under state law and can be litigated. Since Brooklyn College is a government agency, it’s also illegal for them to discriminate on political grounds unless the charge is structured as a patronage job, which college teaching jobs are not. A lawsuit would be the best way to resolve the matter.
