Bnei Brak City Hall is working with Hatzalah Gush Dan to prepare for biur chametz on erev Pesach. Volunteers will be deployed around the city in major areas designated for burning one’s chametz. City sanitation officials are also involved in the operation, seeking to encourage residents to take their chametz to main biur areas rather than have too many individual fires, which pose additional hazards and challenges from a sanitation point of view.

The B’terem organization promoting child safety is also taking a role in the planning to keep the city’s pediatric population safe and far from injury.

City officials are calling on residents to refrain from burning any plastic or nylon item and to refrain from throwing stone and/or glass items into fires. Officials are also urging residents to make absolutely certain that a fire it totally extinguished before the site is abandoned.
