The new building will be the headquarters o the city’s new policing unit which will house 16 policepersons and 16 municipal inspectors along with four patrol cars and four scooters.

Erdan was given the honor of affixing the mezuzah as others looked on.

The new patrols will assist the regular police units in law enforcement in the city, focusing on crime prevention as well as matters of alcohol abuse, violence and vandalism.

The joint police municipality patrols operate under the control of the mayor and local police chief, who together decide what areas they will focus on.
