The Knesset Ministerial Legislation Committee on Sunday, approved a bill banning bikers from wearing headphones.
The bill contains additional safety regulations to protect bike riders, including the need to wear a reflective vest or the like at night, compelling motorists to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters from a bike, and compelling police to designate a bike lane in certain areas.
The bill was prompted by a sharp increase in the number of cyclists that have been struck by vehicles.
