Israel: Tel Tzion Shul Vandalized

It was a shocking site this rosh chodosh morning when mispallalim of the Tehila L’David Shul in the chareidi community of Tel Tzion arrived for shachris. They saw the damage to the shul caused by a vandalism attack during the night. The Tzion is located adjacent to Kochav Yaakov in the Binyamin Regional Council district of Shomron.

When the mispallalim arrived early for their neitz minyan they saw that the shul had been broken into and the three sifrei Torah were missing.

They looked around and immediately realized that the shul had been vandalized, desecrated. The tzedaka boxes were broken open, as was the Aaron Kodesh. Gabbai Rav Shai Davush documents that the damage was significant, adding he believes the vandals entered via a window.

The sifrei Torah were found thrown in a corner, on the floor, and the outer silver cases broken. Police were summoned and preliminary information points to footprints leading to a nearby Arab village.

IDF commanders were also informed and they indicated as a result, they will be installing sophisticate surveillance cameras around the yishuv perimeter.
