Once in a while a vaccination causes sickness, or even death r”l. That doesn’t change the fact that vaccination greatly improves ones odds of living longer and healthier, and one who doesn’t vaccinate his children is putting them in danger. Everything has costs and benefits; seat belts and vaccinations have benefits that far exceed their costs, but the costs are still real.

Unfortunately, sometimes it does happen that not wearing a seatbelt saves a life. I know of other such incidents where the seatbelt has caused problems. Of course, this is not the usual outcome and proper hishtadlus and safety means wearing a seatbelt because much more often than not, it prevents harm. This was unfortunately a case of the rare exception.

She was the only survivor, apparently due to the fact that she was not wearing her seat belt.
