Tefilos are still needed. Oh and it took the ambulance 35 minutes to arrive…

I can’t help but notice how YWN has it in for Ichud Hatzolah. This is the third news article in the past two weeks praising IH while bashing MDA, openly or in this case between the lines. Just a hunch.

Delay may have been increased by traffic, which in that area is anything but good.

The bigger question is did they call BOTH MDA and Ichud or only Ichud, sadly due to the stupid infighting between the organizations Ichud was ‘forced’ to set up it’s own hotline (since MDA did not want to pass them the calls, on the other hand Ichud is very good at listening in on MDA), however when Ichud is called an ambulance is often only called after Ichud first responders arrive on the scene and determine that one is indeed needed potentially adding a significant delay.

I hope the govt. here will finally unify the emergency# and put an end to this crazy fight between organizations that are trying to do the same thing.

Did anybody try to do CPR on him while they were waiting for the ambulance to arrive? There is a strong medical opinion that doing CPR chest compression’s without doing any rescue breathing is as important as if done with rescue breathing.
Since doing just chest compression (100 compression’s per minute) isn’t nearly as frightening as rescue breathing, it should at least have been performed while waiting.
There is no liability on the volunteer rescuer either due to good Samaritan laws.

May he have a refuah shelamah! Very bad news about the ambulance delay but at least Hatzalah arrived quickly to perform CPR. Sadly, ambulance delays aren’t unique to Israel…here in Los Angeles it’s common to wait that long for an ambulance too, very frightening.
