Israel’s Batei Din Move To Kosher Internet For An Evaluation Period

Following the request of Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita, and rabbinical court representatives and officials in the Ministry of Religious Services in the area of internet surfing, the batei din are moving to a “kosher “environment, kosher surfing with the Rimon Company for an evaluation period.

In accordance with this requirement, the Information Systems Department of the Rabbinical Courts began a pilot project in cooperation with the Government’s e-Government Unit for the use of Internet services through Rimon Internet.

The Rabbinical Courts were chosen as the first government unit to conduct a pilot on the subject. The Information Systems Division carried out an activity to connect the computer network of the Rabbinical Courts via Rimon Internet Company and to solve problems that arose during the examination.

After proving the ability and recommendation of the Information Systems Division of the Rabbinical Courts, the Ministry of Religious Services will attach the Ministry’s network to this service. This is in addition to the computer network of the religious councils that are already connected directly to Rimon Internet services, not via e-government. Browsing will be performed in the same manner as today, by settings made by the Information Systems Division.

Rabbi Yaakov Yaakobi, the director of the Rabbinical Courts, noted that “the computer system of the rabbinical courts is currently undergoing a significant upgrade, and in the coming year we will work to upgrade the computer system and to add electronic means of communication that will make it easier for litigants and the secretaries of the rabbinical courts.”

Yariv Peer, CEO of Internet Rimon stated, “Rimon is pleased to be the Internet provider chosen by the Rabbinical Courts’ Administration The Rabbinical Court’s leadership, led by Rabbi Shimon Yaakobi, joins a long list of public bodies, including ‘e-government’ religious, municipalities and local authorities, as well as leading business companies in the Israeli economy, who have chosen Rimon and Etrog’s Internet solutions for the past year, thanks to the new cooperation between the Rabbinical courts and the world’s most advanced filtering technology and uncompromising surfing. The law for preserving values even among interest surfers.”
