VIDEO/PHOTOS: Jews Visiting Har Habayis On Monday Morning

(VIDEO AND PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

Following the closure of Har Habayis to all non-Muslims on Sunday, 22 Tammuz, Jews were once again permitted to visit the holy site on Monday morning. The visit took place without the traditional Waqf escort, during which Waqf officials watch their every move to make certain no tefilos are recited. It is reported that Kaddish was recited at the site of Friday’s attack for the slain policemen.

Longtime Har Habayis activist, Yehuda Etzion, who spend years imprisoned over his battle for Har Habayis, address the group in the video.

Gedolei Yisrael over the generations and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel prohibit visiting Har Habayis, which they explain carries the punishment of karess.

  1. Can this site please change their name and take off their word Yeshiva? What an insult to show people doing SOMETHING AGAINST YESHIVA HALACOT
Would you the owners of this site post a news article embarrassing your mother? ?

  2. can everyone please stop being מגלה פנים בתורה שלא כהלכה THERE IS NO ISSUR for a tamei meis to go on the har habayis. as long as you know where the azara was and you dont go there.
the godolim always davened there all the years and you can look at the ran in nedariim

  3. WhyArePeopleStupid:

There is an ever present Issur for anyone, certainly Jews, to go onto Har HaBayis. This has been declared by all the greatest Poskim, from Rav Kook zt”l until our present time. Anybody who thinks there is a Heter is fooling himself and others and is thereby a Choteh and Machti es HaRabbim. They are disguising their nationalistic patriotism under a cloak of passion for holiness and connection to Hashem. May Hashem open their eyes and lead them to regret their behaviour and return wholeheartedly to true service for Hashem, to what truly provides closeness to G-d and not just what feels close.

  4. Could be that there is a present issur from gedoilei zmaneinee but not a cheeyev Kures, no gudel today can create a cheeyev kures if the gemara and the reshoinim are allowing somebody even he is a tomei meis (after mikvah) to go onto har habayis as long he is not going on to the azoreh and this is known (for whom is willing to know) where you are allowed to go and where not.

  5. the issur of not going does not have to do only about wether or not someone is Tahor. it has to do with the fact that by going there nowadays it invites violence…for example when Sharon went he started an intifada…therefore the gedolim made it assur regardless of how pure or how much you know….its the holiest place in the world for us don’t you think at least rav shach would’ve went if there wasn’t an issue? regardless of all that contrary to popular belief the word yeshiva is not regulated to Lakewood so while our yeshiva world may not go there are other yeshiva world that do…right or wrong that’s their daas torah.

  6. As far as the Arabs are concerned the fact that there are any Jews in Eretz Yisroel “invites violence”. Because of them we should leave the country? Terrorists already claim the assassin’s veto, without us handing it to them on a silver platter. I wouldn’t go on Har Habayis myself but if there are people who rely on their poskim who say it’s mutar, we should be grateful to them for keeping in the world’s mind that it’s a Jewish site. UNESCO claims we have no connection to Har Habayis. If no Jews went there it they could say it proves we don’t care about it.

  7. Realisticguy, so you are telling us that some knitted kippa dati leumi rabbi is qualified to argue with Rav Elyashiv zt”l and other gedolei Torah. And even Rav Kook?? Rather impudent, wouldn’t you say?
It’s interesting how YWN consistently publishes articles that seem to carry an undertone of exultation that some Jews went up to Har Habayis, etc., including whenever possible, a photo that shows some guys in Chareidi garb participating in the desecration. Followed at the end by the laconic “disclaimer” at the end of the article that has by now become somewhat banal, about how the “Gedolei Yisrael over the generations,” etc. As if this “fig leaf” will counter the enthusiastic tone of the article that seems to imply “Yay, a few more Chareidi appearing people have decided to disobey the da’as Torah of the authentic gedolei Torah and have dared to go up to the Har Habayis!”
How can one be Chareidi and anti-Chareidi at the same time??
