The plants will be planted throughout the city: in the city center, Talpiot, Emek Refaim, Katamon, Givat Shaul, Har Nof, Romeima Bayit Vegan, Har Homa Armon HaNatziv, Ramat Eshkol, Gilo and many other neighborhoods.

In accordance with the municipality’s water saving policy, it was decided to plant thousands of flowers and plants of these types because they can bloom for a long period of time without daily treatment. Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said, “In preparation for the New Year, we will paint Jerusalem with a variety of colors and flowers that will warm the heart and accept the hundreds of thousands of visitors, tourists and guests who will embark on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem of gold”. “We invest a great deal of resources in improving the appearance of the city and the tens of thousands of flowers that will be planted will blossom all corners of the city and improve its beauty,” said Itzik Nidam, head of operations. The planting of the flowers that began Monday 20 Elul, will end before Rosh Hashana.
