Avreichim Attacked in Beit Shemesh on Friday Night

As an avreich was heading to the Friday night tisch of HaRav Meilech Biderman in the Kiryat HaChareidi area of Beit Shemesh, he was attacked by delinquent youths from the community.

The victim, 35, was assaulted by the delinquents as he was heading from Ramat Beit Shemesh to the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Beis Medrash for the tisch and required medical intervention for his head injuries.

Chadrei Chareidim spoke with the victim who describes the attack, stating it occurred at about 01:30 as he was heading to the beis medrash. The youths jumped on him and began smashing his head with a stone until he felt as if he was “about to pass out”. Another avreich passed by, Baruch Hashem, and extricated him from the assailants. An ambulance was summoned and he was transported to a local ‘Terem’ emergency room for treatment. The victim was diagnosed with a concussion and required suturing.

It appears others were assaulted by the youths earlier in the night but they managed to get away before the situation worsened. Hence they did not require medical intervention.

The head injury victim filed a police complaint and he succeeded in identifying one of his attackers. There are no reports of arrests at this time.

  1. This is not your normal delinquent… such rage and anger. Something is terribly wrong in the Beit Shemesh Kiryat HaChareidi area.

  2. What is with YWN and their obsession with Beit Shemesh? All you do is promote loshon hara about all sides that live here. By reading YWN you’d think the only places that exist in the world are Brooklyn, Mea Shearim and Beit Shemesh!?!?

Certainly, if this incident did actually happen, it’s horrible and hopefully the man will be OK. Also, hopefully the police will arrest the perpetrators. However, I find it wierd that YWN reports these stories about Beit Shemesh that people living here haven’t even heard! Stop trying to get everyone all riled up! Stop promoting hate, loshon hara and problems!
