Crembo Shortage Reported In Israel This Winter


The winter has just begun, and the sweet hit of the season is running out of steam, leaving dozens of customers and suppliers disappointed. According to the report on Channel 2, the largest manufacturers of crembo in Israel: Strauss and Feldman are not keeping pace with the large demand this year and are beginning to distribute supplies to the suppliers. At the beginning of the season there was a 25% increase in the quantities of Krembo production compared to last year, Feldman reported.

“The demand in my cafeteria was growing, and I could not deliver the product,” a Strauss crembo retailer told Online 2 News. According to him, the company told him that the hundreds of thousands of units manufactured are insufficient for demand, and therefore began to use distributers to meet demands. The factories in Israel produce hundreds of thousands of crembos every day, but it turns out that this is still not enough to provide the entire Jewish nation of crembo this year.

Strauss Ice Cream said in response that “As every year when the winter comes, the Israelis storm the points of sale and the demand for crembo grows from year to year, we do everything in our power to meet the great demand and produce hundreds of thousands of crembos every day. Strauss will continue working around the clock to sweeten winter for crembo lovers around the country.”

The CEO of Feldman added, “From the beginning of the season, we are happily following the growing demand for crembo compared with the previous year, even though the winter is refusing to arrive. We increased production to match demand. From consumer inquiries at points of sale we learn that Feldman has a captive audience that prefers the unique taste of Manbo Feldman. In the crembo season, consumption in Israel is about 50 million crembos per season. The preferred flavor is vanilla, which holds about 60% of sales. The average Israeli eats about 10 crembos per season. ”

The company notes that there was a 25% increase in production quantities compared to last year.
