PM: Israel Will Act Against Syrian Weaponry if Required

Addressing a group of visiting European Union ambassadors on Tuesday 30 Tishrei 5773, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke of the concerns surrounding Syria’s chemical weaponry. He told the ambassadors during the official luncheon that if Israel feels threatened, it would take military action against Syria.

Regarding Iran, the prime minister acknowledged the severity of the sanctions leveled against Tehran by the international community but was skeptical regarding the sanctions being sufficient to halt the Iranian nuclear program. He feels a military action will be required to bring the nuclear program to a halt.

Regarding Egypt, he stressed the need for the new government to honor treaties signed between the countries in the past.
