VIDEO: Minister Bennet: I Am Ready To Take Over After The Netanyahu Era

(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

Bayit Yehudi party Chairman Minister Naftali Bennet was interviewed on motzei Shabbos on Israel’s Meet the Press program. Bennet begins by explaining the relevance of the recent declaration by US President Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He feels this brings legitimacy to Israel recognizing Jerusalem as her capital, and that other nations are already following President Trump’s example.

He feels the Palestinians’ ideology is to keep pounding Israel until they despair, but he proudly explains this did not occur, and Israel remains stronger and is not about to throw in the towel due to the Arab violence and attacks.

“Giving away land does not work, and this policy has to change. Yes, we want peace no less than any other, but one has to wonder why only in Israel do leaders have a policy of giving away land. It did not work in Gaza or anywhere. Regarding the Palestinians, they have Gaza, which was given to Abu Mazen and Hamas took over.

“The time has come to build in all of Jerusalem. It was a mistake to give the impression that Jerusalem will be divided. I also believe we must now annex Maale Adumim and Gush Etzion”, stated Bennet.

He added, “After the Netanyahu era, I plan to run for Prime Minister and all the dramatic changes that I brought to education, I will bring to the areas of our economy, security and more. I have business, economic, government and security experience and since entering the public arena, I have tried doing my upmost for the nation and plan to continue doing so”.

Therefore, Bennet acknowledges his party’s platform is problematic because currently, it is too narrow. The party has to expand, and it must bring in chareidim and all of Am Yisrael. He insists the party cannot remain sectoral but must become a national party.

In an interview with Kol Chai Radio on Sunday morning 22 Kislev, Justice Minister (Bayit Yehudi) Ayelet Shaked did indicate that when the time is right, she too may run for the premiership slot amid her growing popularity.
