Degel Faction Split Results in Economic Sanctions

(Wednesday, October 24th, 2012)

The split in Degel HaTorah and the new Netzach faction is becoming more serious, and as reported a number of weeks ago, that HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita was boycotting the Heichal Malchus Hall in Bnei Brak, followed by a clarification that he would attend simchos at the hall.

The simcha hall is owned by Menachem Carmel, a senior figure in the new Netzach branch, and now, it appears the Degel faction is actual banning the hall.

A chasanah was held on Tuesday night the eve of 8 Cheshvan, a grandchild of Rav Kanievsky, and it was set to take place in Heichal Malchus but due to the new reality in the community, a last minute change of venue was decided upon and the chasenah was moved to Yeshivas Shaare Tzion.

Just come out and boycott the new party or say something about it instead of boycotting the simcha hall.
