It’s a wake up call for us to do teshuva- the message is for us.
But why America?
We don’t know, but nothing is by chance.
The Gemara tells us that Hashem’s ‘tears’ for the suffering of Yidden causes ‘natural’ disasters.
Might it be connected to the harsh unjust imprisonment of 2 Yiden in America?
We don’t know.
