Gilad Sharon Blasts Government Ineptitude

According to Gilad Sharon, a son of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the situation in Gaza today is one of “anarchy”. In his Sunday morning opinion piece in the Israeli media, Sharon blasts the government for its failure to adequately protect southern Israeli residents, speaking of the failure of the most senior state leaders to define red lines and act to protect citizens of the nation. Gilad Sharon speaks of a need to decide on a course of action and if Gaza must be placed under Israeli control once again, then so be it, but a decision is required and appropriate action taken as the government today fails in its basic responsibility – to protect its citizens from harm.

While addressing the anarchy in Gaza, the fact that “terrorists can fire into Israel at will”, the young Sharon adds the treasury has recently made things worse as it places a financial stranglehold on Sderot with budgetary cuts, which were only reversed when that community’s mayor launched a hunger strike in Jerusalem.

Sharon contemplates how a government permits school children to remain in life-threatening danger on a regular basis, including his children which attend school in the Shar HaNegev Regional Council.

He does not address how he publically supported his father’s disengagement plan, the uprooting of the Gaza Jewish community which provided a security buffer from terrorist rockets into southern Green Line Israel. He does not address his statements in support of that plan, or the promises made by his father, who assured the nation that by uprooting the 10,000 Jews from their homes and turning over that area of Eretz Yisrael to terrorists there would be tranquility in the south, a promise that has yet to be realized by the residents of those areas.

  1. This was reported by YWN.

YWN is frum, and therefore wouldn’t report Lashon HaRa except as allowed.

Why is this article Lashon HaRa?

Because everyone knows the Israeli government is inept, and has been so since 1947 (they didn’t exist before that, but if it had, it probably would have been inept). Its predecessors were certainly quite inept (getting into a needless was with the Arabs, and being a factor in making the British inclined to minimize the survival of Jewish refugees from Europe). Indeed, one can argue that the ineptitude of he secular zionists is already up to the level of a “hazakah”.
