Israel: How Many School Kids Can You Get into a 9 Passenger Vehicle?

Rosh Ha’ayin police, during a heavy rainstorm stopped a 9 passenger vehicle traveling in the area because it appeared full well beyond capacity, on Sunday morning.

Police quickly realized their suspicions were well founded, as the vehicle was carrying more than the permitted nine passengers. In actuality, police counted 22 children inside, ages 3-5.

The driver, a resident of the Israeli Arab municipality of Kfar Kassam explained it was a “one time occurrence” due to the heavy rain.

Police ordered a vehicle large enough to transport the children to their destination, revoked the driver’s license on the spot for 30 days and impounded his vehicle.
