More Money for Fortification Following Last Round of Rocket Fire

Following a difficult week for southern Israeli residents, pounded by rockets around-the-clock, the government has announced it will be transferring 30 million NIS to southern area communities as part of a budget to fortify kindergartens, daycare centers and area schools.

Homefront Defense Minister (Likud) Avi Dichter approved the allocation on Tuesday 28 Cheshvan 5773 and these funds will be allocated to communities in the Eshkol Regional Council, Mishmar HaNegev Regional Council, Ashkelon Coast Regional Council, Shar HaNegev Regional Council, Netivot and Ashkelon.

There are over 150 facilities falling under the category of the institutions mentioned above, of which 15 are currently fortified against rocket attacks.
