Russia on Monday urged an end to Palestinian rocket attacks and what it called the disproportionate Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, saying both were unacceptable.
“Moscow considers it necessary to stop the military confrontation without delay,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“We again affirm our position on the inadmissibility of firing at Israeli regions and of disproportionate strikes on Gaza,” the Russia Foreign Ministry said.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made a similar comment in a telephone conversation with his Palestinian counterpart, the Russian ministry said.
Russia is a member of the so-called Quartet of Middle East peace mediators, along with the United States, the United Nations and the European Union.
President Vladimir Putin has tried to balance ties with Arabs including the Palestinians, dating to the Soviet era, with improved relations with Israel during his 13 years in power.

When I read the headline, I thought: Oh, Russia is like “how come only Israel gets to bomb Gaza? We want to also!”
Russia is asking Israel to stop the disproportionate bombing of Gaza!?!?! Talk about people in glass houses! I’m sure the Israelis would be more then willing to stop bombing to allow the Russians into Gaza to confiscate their rockets. What’s Putin’s reasoning? This isn’t just some silly spat “like” Syria (to which Putin doesn’t have an opinion, and more people have died at the hands of the Syrian Army forces).
Vlady must go back to his foxhole. The world isn’t interested in what he has to say. When the word HYPOCRITE was created, it was for Russia. There is probably no greater hypocrite and “two-facer” than Russia.
Arabs like when people die. No matter who they are, Let it be Jews or their own or anyone else for that matter. They always do something to get people killed and blame it on Israel or someone else. They send rockets to Israel to kill people, Israel sends missiles and warns them to get out because they are targeting terrorist cells and rocket holding cells. But they insist on leaving their families live there they know that they are in danger, but life has no value, you can see how they disrespect their dead by dragging and carrying them around like puppets. If they don’t get killed this way, they have suicide bombers, another way of killing their own and others over the world showing no value to life. Who blows them self up to kill? Most of you don’t get it. These people are born terrorism they are born to kill. Like Animals in the wild.
I condemn any leader who condemns Israel for sending missiles. Any one who defends these Arab terrorists. Is a terrorist him self and has blood on his hands. Let it be Turkey, Egypt, Russia, etc.. who cares who else.. They all know good and well, that these rockets have been flying in to Israel and didn’t say anything then. They knew about all these suicide bombers killing all the US, UK, and other troops over seas and didn’t say anything then. And don’t tell me that this is different because of civilians, Israel, also has civilians, all those soldiers killed also have family. So let them stop sending those rockets now and if they want they can blow them self’s up.
Now let me get this straight. The arab thugs are allowed to fire their rockets indiscriminately at Israeli Civilians while Israel is not allowed to defend itself to prevent the shelling. Hmmm. I wonder what the Checknians, hungarians (1956) and many other countries have to say about russia’s attitude.

We should use as much force as Russia would use
I urge putin to stop using disproportionate stupidity.
Israel exchanged one Isreali soldier, Gilad Shalit for 1,000 terrorists, in cooperation and agreement of all other nations. No one complained that it was not proportionate.
Therefore they ought to be able to bomb 1,000 arab targets for each missile that is launched at an Israeli target , and kill 1,000 arab denizens for each Israeli killed.
After all, it must be proportionate!!
