Border Policewoman Targeted in Facebook Threats Including Calls for Revenge

A 17-year-old Arab male was shot dead after pulling a gun at border police at the Machpelah in Hebron on Wednesday night the eve of 29 Kislev 5773.

The incident occurred at about 18:30, when Muhmad Ziyad Salameh confronted border police stationed near the Machpelah and when ordered to identify himself, he pointed a gun at them. A border policewoman fired three shots at the attacker. Bomb demolition technicians confirmed that while the weapon looked genuine, it was a metal toy gun.

Border Police Commander Amos Yaakov praised the “appropriate” actions of the border policewoman, stated she acted as trained and as expected to act.

Arabs are using Facebook to call for retaliations and revenge against the soldier, whose face has been blurred in news stories of the incident. In addition, violence followed in Hebron following the shooting, compelling IDF troops to use riot control adjuncts to restore order. PA (Palestinian Authority) source allege that Israel did not prevent a Red Crescent ambulance to transport the victim in a timely fashion.

The victim’s brother was one of the terrorists released from prison by Israel in the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal.

Violence was also reported in Hebron on Thursday morning, 29 Kislev, as tens of Arab pelted security forces with rocks. Authorities of late fear increased violence throughout Yehuda and Shomron, and this attack will simply provide another excuse.

  1. Do they need an excuse to “retaliate”? Any little thing sets them off.
People complain when the IDF runs away from confrontations and others complain and threaten violence when they do their job. It’s a no win situation.

  2. Her face was blurred in the real media, yes. But on Facebook some idiots posted her real name and unblurred picture.

She will have to spend the rest of her life hiding. She’ll have to change her name, probably move to the other side of the country – if not abroad.

Whoever published her name and picture deserves to be in jail until the day he dies.
