#1 – yeshiva students are not imprisoned, but they happen to have a very full day and they often come from out of town – and they need to travel home in order to vote.

#2 – am yisrael’s fibre is based on listening to rabonim, even if not every Tom Dick and Harry understands the reasoning and agrees.

Akuperma, one has to vote in ones home town, therefore one has to leave yashivah to go to vote, avrachim may also need to travel

These boys who learn in ashknazi yeshivos want to act ashknazi for everuthing, there I think they should vote gimmel too!

Why are litvashe rabbonim directing ANY talmidim how to vote rather than allowing them to study the issues and make their own decisions? They should never be telling sephardeshe talmidim how to vote when Chaacham Ovadia would never think about telling litvashe student how to vote. 1. It’s secret ballot.

2. Any respectful yeshiva student says he follows his rosh yeshiva in public matters. Being asked aboutg voting is public, the actual voting is private.

3. Why would you “release” someone? Are they imprisoned? Do any yeshivos tell students what to do during breaks between sederim? Are you saying they are being bitul Torah by voting instead of seder, wheh they have plenty of non-seder time available?
