Republican hopeful Joe Lhota recited a prayer of rejoice, while Public Advocate Bill de Blasio called for the City’s leaders to stand by Israel, now more than ever.

“This is not a business as usual moment. For all of us in the leadership in NYC, we have to remember – It is our obligation to stand by Israel,” said Mr. de Blasio. “We have a special obligation to make sure the rest of the leadership of this country focuses on the needs of Israel. This is one of the moments we have to double down and do that.”
