Rav Grossman Decides Not to Enter Chief Rabbinate Race


grossmMigdal HaEmek Chief Rabbi Yitzchok Dovid Grossman Shlita has decided not to enter the race to become the next Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel. According to the Kol Chai Radio report, the rav consulted with Gedolei Yisrael Shlita and decided he will not be entering the race.

The rav was viewed as a serious contender since he is well known and loved in Eretz Yisrael. Rabbi Grossman, a recipient of the Israel Prize for his dedication to Migdal HaEmek as well as undertaking the responsibility for educating thousands and thousands of children, the rabbi’s supporters are found in all walks of Israeli life, from chareidi to non-frum.

However, it appears Rabbi Grossman that upon advice from Gedolim Shlita, the rav will continue working in Migdal HaEmek and not seek the chief rabbinate position.
