Bennett: I am Proud to Have Met with Conservative Rabbis

bennAfter meeting with a delegation of Conservative Movement leaders in Knesset, Minister of Religious Services (Bayit Yehudi) Naftali Bennett explained his actions.

In a Thursday night 19 Tammuz 5773 interview with Kol Berama Radio Bennett explained his actions. He began by saying “I am proud that I met with conservative rabbis.”

He added that as minister of religious services he was compelled to meet with the delegation, adding “Is there a Halacha how one should act regarding meeting with conservatives. They are like family.”

When asked to comment about the atmosphere of incitement against chareidim the minister acknowledged that it exists, adding “We must combat this and I call on the chareidim to work with us.”

Regarding the severe cut in yeshiva budgets, Bennett stated “I cannot detail but I can say the cuts in the budget of the Torah world will not actually be as bad as they appear at present. I feel that I am under attack by the chareidim and despite this, I am doing all I can to preserve the Torah world.”

  1. “I am doing all I can to preserve the Torah world.”

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Please, its the 3 weeks. No hoylilus!

  2. it makes sense anything anti tora makes him happy problem is when he meets his maker, he will not be quite so happy

  3. It is becoming clearer by the minute that the Lapid-Bennet government (PM Netanyahu has become an irrelevant actor in this government. His job appears to be displaying cartoons of bombs with red lines, talking tough and doing nothing)has no real interest in helping Chareidim enter the workforce. They are in favor of nothing less than turning what is left of the Jewish state into a secular western democracy. Pro gay marriage, pro civil marriage, pro feminist extremism, pro women on the dayanim committee, end of widespread Yeshiva deferments ,end of funding religious organizations, end of social safety net and now recognition of Conservative rabbis.

It is a sham that Dov Lipman claims to be out for true Chareidi interests or that American Orthodoxy would be comfortable with the changes his party and government promotes.

Truth be told once all of traditional Judaism is stripped from the state why not offer the Arabs of Judea and Samaria full citizenship and turn the country into some sort of bi-national democratic state.

  4. Settles the matter. He is an apikores. So now the Dati Leumi gets to decide whether or not to drop the “Dati” or drop him.

  5. If he really wants to know “Is there a Halacha how one should act regarding meeting with conservatives?” he should ask rabbonim.
