VIDEO: Bennett: The Chinese Don’t Care About Politics

bb[VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

Minister of the Economy Naftali Bennett, currently on an official visit in China, loaded a YouTube update on his visit after conducting 20 meetings. He speaks from Shanghai after visiting Beijing, and from a strictly business perspective, the opportunities are marvelous according to the minister. Bennett points out that a country with 1.3 billion residents who must feed their families and make a living presents limitless opportunity, but this must be properly channeled.

Bennett, who has led a successful hi-tech career prior to becoming head of the Bayit Yehudi party, feels China today is not the place ‘to make a quick killing’ and therefore for those seeking to get in and get rich quick, this is not the venue. He believes that any business established must include a Chinese partner. He adds that it will take time to develop relations, relations that must be nurtured by the government and diplomatic corps, not individuals.

On the political front, “hi-tech and Israeli technology is what interests them” Bennett explains, adding that talks with Arabs or anything to do with Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority) is not on their radar. Therefore explains Bennett, Israel must remember that it must lead with economics and stop being entangled in the obsession surrounding the diplomatic process with the PA.
