This guy is a creepy rasha. Hopefully he will do teshuva, if not may his downfall come soon like all the others who tried harming Yidden and Yiddishkeit. The claim that “chareidim” don’t work is also a pack of lies. Many chashuva yungerleit are BH sitting and learning and insuring the existence of the world and the yishuv in Eretz Yisroel. Lapid and his cronies wouldn’t last a day in kollel, the “work” would be way to hard for them. The hundreds of people I know in America and E.Y. from all backgrounds and flavors are all working very hard at whatever their doing. I know many hard working frum professionals and businessmen making a lot more money than these secular Israeli losers. I don’t know what these evil self hating Jews are talking about.

He has accomplished most of his goals. The pro-zionist yeshivos are being forced to give up on zionism (which would alienate many of their “right wing” students, and bankrupt themselves) or adjust to having most of their students spend several years in the army and then leaving the yeshiva world to be baal ha-battim, at best. The unintended consequence is that he has revived the largely dormant anti-zionist hareidim, perhaps turning the Eidah Hareididis from a kashrus agency into a political force, and risk undermining the state’s international position (since anti-zionist hareidim are conscientious objectors, and persecuting them could undermine toleration of Israel). He also may have seriously weakened the IDF if he forces the army to accept many unwilling and potential disruptive soldiers.

So everyone except the establishment hareidim are winners. The hilonim bashed their mortal enemies (us). The anti-zionist hareidim are regaining political traction which they haven’t had for almost a century. The Arabs will benefit from the IDF’s loss of cohesion.
