No, the debt has gone from 10 trillion to 17 trillion in the past 5 years, whereas GDP has raised only a little.

Commenter No. 2: President Obama’s opponents have been chicken-littling since his first election. The federal debt as a percentage of GDP is actually falling steadily, and the economy, though weak, is growing slowly. It is not the economy that is smoke and lights, it is your “facts” that are smoke and light.

Bottom line, America’s sinking deeper and deeper in debt, and no one on Capitol Hill has a plan to get out. The economy today is smoke and lights. When the market decides, this economy is going to collapse under its own weight faster than we can imagine, as our jaw drops to the floor in shock.
