lots of the gedolim this past year were niftar R”L in the 70′s or 80′s this was not enough to wake us up to teshuva –

why that is sadly the time when many people die now if is was in their 40″s that is a different story

See what he makes a siyum on EVERY YEAR, and how much Torah he knows! Maybe if people knew in depth as he does even 1/100th of his Torah they can claim they have what to ask…!!

Perhaps we are not appreciating these Gedolei Hador that Hashem has sent us to lead & guide us in this world. i.e. when someone takes something for granted & doesn’t give the proper thanks, then it gets taken away from us. are we listening to our gedolei Hador & their guidance? when they make takanos-for our good-to help us return to Hashem & become better?
has klal yisroel gotten the message from Hashem-waiting for us to start doing teshuva-have YOU done anything yet? how many more tragedies & Tzaddikim will it take C”V before we wake up & start doing teshuva? OVER 20 GEDOLEI HADOR have passed away within the past year R”L. HOW MANY MORE DO WE NEED TO LOSE C”V to let hashem know that we get the message for klal yisroel to start doing teshuva ASAP?

To IsraeliYid’s question: There are numerous possibilities, here are a few. Maybe there wasn’t sufficient response from the bnei Torah being mocheh for the kavod of the Gedolim. Maybe some of the insults the Rav referred to came from within the bnei Torah community (e.g. as per his public position re recent elections). Maybe a middas hadin is created by such actions that brings such consequences r”l. And maybe we survive in gallus in the zechus of the Gedolim of each generation, and that protection is weakened when their kavod is weakened.

It’s a gemara in sotah which says, “From the day the בית המקדש was destroyed, there hasn’t been a day without its curse. This means until we have a בית המקדש standing again we will continue to have and more צרות that will get bigger and BIGGER, until we say to our Creator, “Hashem please redeem us from Golus America! We have had enough already!”

anIsraeli#1: The Seforim HaKedoshim say that when aveiros occur in the world, the Tzadikim of the world bear the brunt of the punishment, causing their loss. And the world suffers due to our losing them.

So, clearly, it is not necessarily the one sinning who gets hurt in this world due to the sins.

With all due respect, if this is the reason, why are those being affected by the incidents the selected “korbanos”? It would seem that those who insult Talmidei Chachamim are those who should be affected.

This should not be considered an attack in any way, shape, or form on Rav Chaim’s Kavod. I am asking a question, not attacking.
