Jewish Man was on Missing Flight

Malaysia.airlines.b747-400.9m-mph.arpThe search is continuing for a Malaysia Airlines plane that has been missing for more than 24 hours.

Marine rescue teams worked through the night to search the sea south of Vietnam, while the aerial mission resumed on Sunday morning.

Flight MH370 disappeared en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur, with 239 people on board.

With at least 12 nationalities on board, Flight 370’s disappearance left families around the world reeling. Family members of passengers faced an agonizing wait for answers, as the aircraft remained unaccounted for more than a day after it was scheduled to land.

Besides the Chinese passengers — who, according to Chinese state media, included a delegation of painters and calligraphers returning from an exhibition and a group of Buddhists returning from a religious gathering — the flight carried passengers from Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Australia, the United States, France, New Zealand, Ukraine, Canada, Russia and the Netherlands.

Among the passengers and crew, was a Jewish man, COLlive has learned.

Nikolai Brodski, 43, a father of two children, is a resident of Siberia and a member of the Jewish community in Irkutsk, Siberia.

The rabbi of the city and county, Shliach Rabbi Aharon Wagner, has been in constant contact with his family members to encourage them and support them at this difficult time.

Rabbi Wagner, who knew Mr. Brodski personally, said that the entire local community is devastated since hearing of the tragedy.
