Likud Activists: Don’t Lend a Hand to Toppling the Right-Wing Government

likudSenior Likud activists are sending a clear message to members of the Bayit Yehudi party, calling upon them not to bring down the right-wing government. Amid threats from Bayit Yehudi leader Minister Naftali Bennett to break from the coalition if a fourth terrorist prisoner release is approved, the Likud activists remind Bennett that it was the right-wing that toppled a right-wing coalition. This led to the rise of a left-wing government, which brought us the Oslo Agreement.

In a related matter, during a briefing to foreign diplomats in Yerushalayim, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman addressed the issue of unilateral actions, telling the members of the diplomatic corps it is counterproductive to encourage the PA (Palestinian Authority) to act unilaterally. He explained do so will just lead to a breakdown in the negotiating process. He added that any party wishing to remain productive mustn’t encourage the PA to act as it has, turning to the UN, but those seeking to advance peace must remain objective and not place the blame for the stalled talks on Israel.
