A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service, affecting Sullivan and Ulster counties through 7 p.m.
The storms have the potential to produce winds as high as 58 mph, according to the National Weather Service, with hail as large as 1 inch in diameter.
People are urged to move indoors at the sight of lightning or sound of thunder.
The Storm capable of producing the tornado will be near. Woodbourne, Woodridge and 6 miles south of Neversink by 12:50 pm EDT. 6 miles south of Grahamsville by 1:00 pm EDT.
