Egged announces the following arrangements will be in effect on every motzei Shabbos and Yomtov beginning with motzei Shabbos Parshas Balak 5774.

Special arrangements to assist mispallalim to get home pertain to two lines only, the 1 and the 3, and only shortly following the end of Shabbos regular and Rabbeinu Tam times. This service is to accommodate the mispallalim that arrived on Shabbos and Yomtov and wish to return home without walking.

The passengers on these buses will be permitted to travel on the route without any monetary obligation on motzei Shabbos or during the week. The first buses will leave from the Kosel bus stops 15 minutes after Shabbos ends. The second after Shabbos ends according to Rabbeinu Tam time.

The buses carrying passengers free of charges will display signs; ‘111’ for the number 1 bus and ‘333’ for the number 3 buses. These are the only buses one can ride for free.

The Ministry of Transportation will employ additional inspectors on motzei Shabbos to enforce the law, making certain riders on all other buses pay their fare.
