OPERATION PROTECTIVE EDGE: Cabinet Approves Calling Up 40,000 IDF Reservists

Operation Protective Edge appears to be expanding. The cabinet on Tuesday, 10 Tammuz 5774 has approved activating 40,000 IDF reservists to prepare for a possible ground force incursion into Gaza.

The soldiers and officers will receive a “Tzav 8” which is an emergency call-up order, eliminating the need for the standard notification given to soldiers before annual reserve duty. For comparisons sake, in Operation Pillar of Defense, 14,000 soldiers were activated for service.

There are also unconfirmed reports that armored motorcades are seen in various areas heading south. This includes armored personnel carriers (APC), heavy equipment and tanks. They are headed from the center of the country towards the Gaza border.

  1. Great news. Israel must go in and break those terrorists quickly. Hamas is becoming weaker and weaker and now is the time.

We’re 100% behind you Israel, hatzlacha!

  2. get the arab mamzerim—shoot them all between the eyes—never mind being humanitarian in Gaza or civilians—there are no civil beings in gaza send them all to their…..that’s what they want anyway

  3. War is diplomacy by other means – by the less violent means are less expensive in terms of money and blood. Winning a glorious victory (one in which the enemy ceases to be a threat, e.g., the American victories of Japan and Germany in World War II) aren’t so glorious if you happen to be one of the people being remembered on Memorial Day. A successful government would be one that manages to resolve disputes without going to war. This is not to say the Israeli leaders have another option, or that the Arabs are any cleverer (it seems one could argue that the Arabs were created to make the Israelis look smart), only a government whose policies require maintaining a masasive military establishing and using it constantly should be seen as a failure in the long run.
