Lakewood: LCSW & LPD To Host Exciting Bike Registration & Safety Event


lcswnLakewood is gearing up to attend an exciting, first-of-its-kind event on Monday, July 21st.

LCSW, together with the Lakewood Police Department and the Rothenberg Law Firm will be hosting a bike registration and safety event in Town Square, designed to promote much needed safety awareness in a fun and exciting environment.

The event will give children the opportunity to register their bikes for free in the LPD files, an important step that deters would-be thieves from stealing bikes and then significantly aids police in recovering stolen bikes.

In addition, the event will focus on bike and pedestrian safety in general, with helmets, reflectors, bike lights, and more on sale for discounted prices.
Attendees, after registering their bikes at the event, will be able to get their tires inflated to recommended pressure and receive a demonstration on how and how often to inflate. Bike pumps will be sold at discounted prices as well.

Bike Blade and Ball will provide helmet safety and fitting demonstrations, teaching children the proper way to wear helmets in order to protect themselves against injury ch”v and helping them ensure that their helmets fit effectively.

Exciting prizes will be raffled off throughout the event, including the grand prize of a Safe Riding Package – a bike, helmet, lock and light – from Bike, Blade and Ball, and a pair of roller blades from Bike Blade and Ball. Smaller prizes, such as helmets, reflectors, bike lights, bike locks and more, will be raffled off regularly. These items and more will also be on sale by our vendors at the event, for highly discounted prices.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department will attend as well, giving out Child ID cards for free to participants. Child ID cards are a crucial safety tool for children; in the event that a child goes missing, ch”v, the ID will help expedite the search process.

Vendors and sponsors include Rothenberg Law Firm, Yated Neeman, Bright Ideas, Bike Blade and Ball, Bonky’s, DB Electronics, Ideal Insurance, Toys 4 You, Krug Orthodontist, Multicom Solutions, The Lakewood Shopper, NJ American Water, the Ocean County Sheriff Department and more.

Light refreshments will be distributed, with additional food available for purchase from vendors.

This is a mere sampling of the exciting features and programs of Monday’s upcoming event, a must for all those who care about safety and want to impart important safety ideals to their children. By doing so in a fun and engaging way, you as a parent can ensure that your children will be eager and excited to comply.

LCSW thanks Mayor Menashe Miller for working to ensure the success of this event and for all of his efforts to improve the safety of Lakewood’s citizens.
Unfortunately, Mayor Miller will not be able to attend, as he is deployed, but this event could not have been put into place without him. However, Deputy Mayor Akerman and Committeman & Police Liaison Meir Lichtenstein will be at the event to address the crowd and promote the continuous efforts of the Lakewood Township to promote safety.

All children and their families are invited to the event. Don’t forget to bring your bike along; crossing guards at nearby intersections will help attendees safely cross the street with their bikes. Event coordinators recommend that attendees walk or bike to the event, if at all possible. Otherwise please use the following municipal parking areas for parking: parking area between 3rd and 4th behind Bagel Nosh, parking area between 2nd and 3rd across from the Municipal Building.
This educational, exciting and potentially life-saving event will be held on Monday, July 21st in Lakewood’s Town Square from 4 pm to 9 pm, with a rain date of Tuesday July 22nd.
