Ceasefire Resolution Said Sent To UN Security Council

iafThe Palestinian UN envoy says a draft UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza will be formally circulated to the Security Council.

Riyad Mansour tells reporters before the Security Council’s monthly meeting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Mideast on Tuesday that the resolution would be given to all 15 council members later Tuesday. It was endorsed by the Palestinians’ supporters last week.

A draft dated July 18 and obtained by The Associated Press calls for “an immediate, durable and fully respected cease-fire, including the withdrawal of Israeli occupying forces from the Gaza Strip.”

It also calls for “all necessary measures to ensure the protection of civilians, including the immediate cessation of military reprisals, collective punishment and excessive use of force against the Palestinian civilian population.”

  1. Who is giving collective punishment?
Who is making excessive use of force against the Palestinine civilian population?
Those who force the civillians to stand in the fireline!
Who are the occupying forces in the Gaza strip?
Those who cause the population to live a live of fear and misery even during peace time!
Just another empty statement of Israel bashing.

  2. The “world” says “Palestinians should have their own state in Palestine”. But the world has swallowed the myth – Palestine was a term invented to insult Jews and to try to blot out their immutable connection to the Land of Israel. Palestinians are Arabs, maybe Egyptian Arabs or Jordanian Arabs (whatever those terms mean).
Consequently, such a UN resolution would be, as usual, complete nonsense.
