Investigation Shows the IDF Did not Hit the UNRWA School


idftIDF officials report that the investigation into the rocket fire that led to many deaths in an UNRWA school in Beit Hanoun shows the civilian deaths and injuries were not the result of IDF fire.

The IDF Spokesman reported that the investigation shows that while the IDF fired a number of mortar shell rounds towards terrorists, the latter fired anti-tank rockets at the force.

The investigation results are backed by video footage showing one of the IDF mortar shells landed in the school yard while it was empty. The IDF stresses that it is not operating against international organizations in Gaza and even during Operation Protective Edge, cooperation and coordination continue with these agencies continues.

The video footage clearly shows when the IDF mortar landed in the yard there were no people there, in line with statements from a number of officials shortly following the incident.

The IDF in its statement expresses sorrow over the loss of life among Gaza civilians.
