Kerry Shrugs off Israeli Criticism

kerSecretary of State John Kerry says he’s not concerned about widespread criticism of his efforts to win a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas and will continue to work toward that goal.

Kerry said he was convinced that a humanitarian cease-fire followed by negotiations to resolve the underlying causes of the conflict is “more appropriate” than “a tit-for-tat of violence that will invite more violence.” He said he is fully supportive of Israel’s right to self-defense and denied accusations that his cease-fire effort would hurt its security.

Though he said he wasn’t “worried” by the criticism, Kerry showed flashes of pique in his comments, saying at one point that he would not “take a second seat to anybody” in his devotion to Israel’s security.

  1. How did this guy graduate law school?

Hamas has made it bloody clear to the world that they are not partners for negotiation, and that they will never rest until they have committed genocide. Is that a partner to hold conversation with United States? The rhetoric about “peace” sounds nice until one recognizes that the proposals all force Israel to accept a militant and terroristic group fully armed and financially supported by US. Nothing but eradication of Hamas is acceptable. I know that doesn’t sound neat or PC, but I’ll throw political correctness in the trash any day if it will be accompanied by greater security for Israel. (ACtually, PC should be trashed anyway, as it bears no resemblance to democracy or truth.)

  2. From everything I’m hearing we r supposed to be grateful for his good intentions might I suggest there for that we judge israel by the same standard and say that they had good intentions although the results. May have come out possiblycatastrophic
And stop bashibg israel based on results but rather just to look at their good intentions

  3. To takingabreak:

Yes, you have to understand. By the left wing Liberals, its the “intentions” that count, NOT the results! And yes, Liberals are very generous, with someone else’s money/life, NOT their own!

  4. Kerry is so out of it, he does not know whether he is coming or going. And this is supposed to solve world problems. Oy vey.
