If they lose there, their “goose is cooked” whereas an Israeli victory in Gaza wouldn’t even be a inconvenience for them. Plus, they ahve good reason to suspect that Hamas is on the same side as ISIS (Islamic State), which is now tghe Iranians/Hezbollah’s principle enemy in the three sided civil war in Iraq/Syria.
