  1. Can someone understand the logic for Israel to accept a short term ceasefire instead of destroying the terrorists completely no matter how long it takes? I understand the logic for Hamas for the ceasefire where they can acquire more weapons, but what would Israel gain from it?

  2. Of course schools in a war zone can’t open now. What sane parent would send their child to school and what school can take the responsibility of protecting hundreds of students at such a time?

  3. I have difficulty understanding why after being bombed for about 7 weeks that Hamas are having more success lately with their rocket campaign that they were having initially. It would appear that the efforts of the IDF are not effective.

Is the IDF really as incompetent as they appear

  4. Does the Israeli acceptance of the latest cease fire indicate an acceptance by them of their inability to deal with the Hamas problem and they are relieved to be offered a way out.

  5. It’s about time that every one, the Isreli Government as well the readers of YWN realise that the IDF without the help of Hashem is a total waste of time – they have achieved nothing in 50 days and will continue to achieve nothing until they stop their war against the chareidim and we utilise the month of Elul in the best possible way.

  6. “19:32: Dozens of people injured in Gaza from people randomly firing guns in “celebration” for their “victory” against Israel.”

I beg the international community to encourage these barbari– I mean, Gazans, to show maximum restraint in their celebrations, considering the rising number of civilian injuties on their account.

  7. I dont agree the Government is stupid, they realised they were not capable of eliminating Hamas they are simply being pragmatic

  8. I suggest that the lack of any Israeli response to the latest agreement is an acknowledgment of the failure of their campaign and the resulting humiliation of the Government and the army. This does not bode well for future developments re West Bank and Lebanon.

This latest Operation may turn out to be as big a disaster as the original evacuation from Gaza
